Anthony Travel Selected to Manage the NCAA Championship Housing Program
DALLAS – Anthony Travel, Inc., the leading sports travel management company in the country, has been selected to manage the NCAA Championship Housing Program. Anthony Travel’s unique and innovative service approach will help the NCAA consolidate management of its hotel spend, leverage buying power across multiple championships and offer high value properties at reasonable costs to its member institutions.
The NCAA’s revamped championship bid process is being presented at this week’s NACDA Convention in Orlando. The new process includes the awarding of more than 500 sites for 84 NCAA championships by the end of the year. Once hosts are awarded championships, Anthony Travel will manage the lodging proposal, selection and contracting efforts.
“We are excited to engage Anthony Travel in the management of our new hotel program,” said Mark Lewis, NCAA executive vice president of championships and alliances. “This program will provide more amenities for our student-athletes while allowing institutions to maximize their per diem when participating in NCAA championships.”
John Anthony, president and CEO, said his company would leverage strong relationships with hotel brands across the country to deliver the appropriate mix of amenities, location and price to meet the needs of host institutions and teams traveling.
“Anthony Travel is thrilled to partner with the NCAA on this new program,” Anthony said. “This collaboration will provide innovative solutions and savings not only to the NCAA, but also its member institutions and various organizing committees.”
